Fizzy lady 2003 - 2011
......Sadly, Fizz was put to sleep yesterday........if you have been up to the kennels recently will know that Fizzy has been ill and unable to go for a walk. I took her to the vets yesterday in a lot of pain and it was decided that the best course of action was to put her to sleep...We split fizz and blue up a couple of days before ...and moved Blue in with another dog, Fizz was given a single kennel with a low bed so that she could move about more freely, unfortunately all she did was come out of bed for a wee and go back in.. Blue is coping ok, due to the distraction of sharing with a new partner..
.......Blue has found a new home and is settling well.......
Nosey our sweet old lady of the kennels died peacefully in her sleep.
She will be deeply misssed by all who knew her.

Slippy was a special case, he lived in kennels for near enough a year. He came into kennels as a big strong dog with an unpredictable nature and didn't like other breeds of dogs at all.
After time and patience of Roy the Sanctaury manager, Slip was at a stage where with the right person he was ready to find a home.
The right person came along that could handle Slip and give him the love he needed, and slip loved his new owner. Unfortunatley as Slip was getting ready to go to his new home he became ill with no chance of getting better and so was put to sleep before he could feel the comfort of laying out full stretch, fast asleep on the settee.
Slip was loved by all who met him, deep down he was a big cuddle monster, who loved to play with his favourite orange ball, loved the attention of people and going for a walk. Because of this we have kept a small part of his write up on this page. Not just because we miss him dearly, but because Slip was the perfect example of the fact that every dog we have has the potential to make a wonderful pet. We never give up on a greyhound and the sad irony is that Slip was just about to start a new life in a new home.
Slip shows us all that sometimes a dog needs that little extra time, love and patience and if you're prepared to put a little work into the initial stages of the relationship: you'll be rewarded a million times over.
