HOW YOU REALLY DO HELP US

 

We try to cut costs as much as we can here at Gosling Moor, but maintaining the home finding operation is a very expensive business and a large percentage of the funds raised do go towards the medical welfare of the dogs and the day-to-day running costs. However, initiatives like the sponsored walk have helped us raise the money to treat all of our dogs to a brand new kennel jacket -  so when you think about them warm as toast in their beds please remember that your support, time, hard work and generosity have helped us to achieve this.

Thank you from Martin and Lesley to everyone that came and supported them on the day. Fraser had worked his paws off (with a little help from Martin and Lesley) and the garden looked beautiful. A total of £63.00 was raised: Thank You again to all those who attended.

St. Patrick's Day Celebrations

Thank you to everyone that came along and supported us last Saturday (20th March 2010). We hope you had good time despite the awful weather and Nosey was overwhelmed by the birthday cards, fantastic photo birthday cake (photo below) and belated birthday cuddles.

 

Thank you too to the traders and people who set up stalls and worked so hard on the day(s): Zena (Happy Birthday to You), Michael, Bethany, Gareth and Thomas Evans. Silver Peacock (Thank you for the beautiful collar). Hound Made Dog Bakery (Thank You for the fantastic liver cake). Margaret and Keith (Dudley Dog was the best dressed dog we've ever seen - Thank You) . The lovely ladies from Lloyds Pharmacy : Vikki and Linda (Thank you for the raffle prize). Pet Stop (Thank You for the great basket of goodies). Rosemary, Philip and Laura Clarke and Mavis (Thank You for doing the tombola on Saturday and Sunday). Thank you to Shona Andrews and her two lovely dogs: Theo (he's the handsome greyhound) and the beautiful Meg. Shona asked her birthday party guests to make donations to us rather than buy her gifts. A huge THANK YOU to all the staff and customers at Tescos, Edenthorpe, Doncaster for the trolley full of donated dog food and treats. All your kind donations will go directly to our kennel dogs here at Gosling Moor Farm and if they could speak they’d all like to say “Thank You and a very Happy 2010”

John and his four fantastic greyhounds: Sophie, Ricky, Dessie and Champ do Beat the Book every night (3 nights per week). John and his gang have done this now for almost two years and have never missed a night.

 

Beat the Book is the backbone of our fundraising and and John and co's outstanding support is really appreciated.

John Stenhouse

1954-2009

On Wednesday 12th August 2009 our dear friend and one of our most dedicated, loyal and hard-working supporters of Sheffield Retired Greyhounds passed away.

 

John and his four lovely greyhounds: Sophie, Ricky, Dessie and Champ have been helping with 'Beat the Book' at Owlerton Stadium three nights per week, every week for the past two years. John's friendship and dedication has made such a real and valuable difference to our homing operation.

 

THANK YOU to all of you who came to John's memorial service: it was so heart warming to realise just how much everyone appreciated John.

 

John sitting in the garden surrounded by his four best four-footed friends will be a sight we'll all dearly miss. The money donated in memory of John will not only go on to help us home more greyhounds, but we'll be buying a bench in John's memory. THANK YOU TO ALL THE PEOPLE THAT HELPED US HONOUR JOHN.

These two young gentlemen called Leon and Malachy helped our greyhounds by holding a garage sale selling toys and buns.
