The dogs and staff at Gosling Moor Farm would like to send a great big thank you to the following people:-

Middlewood Pet Supplies for their very kind support

Alison and the Co-op stores in the area who keep bins in their stores for us which are regularly filled by their kind and generous customers.

Koyo bearings without whose shredded paper our dogs bums would be very cold.  This is a large monetary saving for us.

Thank you to Pets at Home (Heeley Retail Park) and Woodseats Super Pets (tel: 0114 255 5947) for the wonderful donated dog goodies.

Jean Gaunt and Jean Wildman for all their support and wonderful goodies they make for us to sell.

To all our friends (walkers and homers) who turn up week after week in all weathers.  You are too numerous to mention by name but you know who you are.

Thank you to Shona Andrews and her two lovely dogs: Theo (he's the handsome greyhound) and the beautiful Meg. Shona asked her birthday party guests to make donations to us rather than buy her gifts. Once you have a greyhound what else do you need? Thank you again Shona and to your generous friends: Ian Gibson, Sue Hebditch, Marilyn Kinvig, Doug and Eileen Wright and Mrs A Scott.

A huge THANK YOU to all the staff and customers at Tescos, Edenthorpe, Doncaster for the trolley full of donated dog food and treats. All your kind donations will go directly to our kennel dogs here at Gosling Moor Farm and if they could speak they’d all like to say “Thank You and a very Happy 2010”

Dog Show:

Firstly we'd like to thank everyone that came to support us at our third Annual Dog Show.

Many thanks to our fair and thoughtful judges: Tony Lunn, Roy and Alison Hunton.

A huge thank you to all our hard-working volunteers who helped make the day run so smoothly: our wonderful announcer Howard Shaw (Mr Smooth or what!) and his more-than-able glamourous assistant Jo, Pat with Audrey Rose and Charlie Bear. Steve Hollin for taking the photographs on the day - the photos are on the gallery page. Barbara and Ziggy, Paula and Cara, Ashley (hidden away in that hot Homer suit), Andy with Lily and Boss, Angie and Gary. Amy and Thomas with Rosie and Odie, Rosemary and Sue (wasn't their tombola great) with Philip, Laura, Dave, Rosemary's Mum, Sean and Meg. Jean who made the outstanding rosettes for us. Cath who supplied boxes of tasty sweets for our goody bags and Carrie and the RGT for supplying most of the other goodies in the bags. If we've haven't mentioned anyone give us a shout - Helen's memory is a bit greyhound-like we're afraid!

Grateful thanks too to our traders on the day: Silver Peacock (Alex and Simon with Liz and Jono plus hounds Perdy, Jester, Gizmo and Comet), Kizmet and Really Gorgeous Things with Zena, Michael, Bethany, Kizzy and Gareth and Thomas, Violet Lake, Hound Made (delicious) dog biscuits with Amy, Gavin and Angel.

Most have their own websites (just click their names above)  and they're always worth a visit.

(Disclaimer: S.R.G.F cannot be held responsible for you spending huge amounts of money buying their fantastic merchandise)

Pictured here are Alison and Chris Hunton and their wonderful greyhounds Ralph and Grace. Alison and her team from the Co op have done their second mammoth store-to-store sponsored walk and raised huge amounts of money for our greyhounds.

Please take a moment to read Ralph's Dog Blog on the Events page.

Thank You Alison, Chris, Ralph, Grace, Mick and ALL the walkers: if you need to rest your weary feet/paws Nosey says you can use her kennel anytime!

John and his four fantastic greyhounds: Sophie, Ricky, Dessie and Champ do Beat the Book every night (3 nights per week). John and his gang have done this now for almost two years and have never missed a night.

Beat the Book is the backbone of our fundraising and and John and co's outstanding support is really appreciated.

Thank You John, Sophie, Ricky, Dessie and Champ.

John Stenhouse

1954-2009

On Wednesday 12th August 2009 our dear friend and one of our most dedicated, loyal and hard-working supporters of Sheffield Retired Greyhounds passed away.

John and his four lovely greyhounds: Sophie, Ricky, Dessie and Champ have been helping with 'Beat the Book' at Owlerton Stadium three nights per week, every week for the past two years. John's friendship and dedication has made such a real and valuable difference to our homing operation.

THANK YOU to all of you who came to John's memorial service: it was so heart warming to realise just how much everyone appreciated John.

John sitting in the garden surrounded by his four best four-footed friends will be a sight we'll all dearly miss. The money donated in memory of John will not only go on to help us home more greyhounds, but we'll be buying a bench in John's memory. THANK YOU TO ALL THE PEOPLE THAT HELPED US HONOUR JOHN.

Rest in peace John

These two young gentlemen called Leon and Malachy helped our greyhounds by holding a garage sale selling toys and buns.

Thank You so much Leon and Malachy from all the greyhounds and staff at Gosling Moor Farm.

P.S: Thank you for giving the money to Roy: if you'd have given it to Homer behind you he'd have spent it all on dog biscuits just for him!

Thank you to Beverley Peach and everyone at Nostell Priory Holiday Park: we were fortunate enough to be asked to go back this year 2009 and genuinely enjoyed meeting you all (and your dogs) again. The money raised through your sponsorship really will go a long way to helping us home our greyhounds. THANK YOU

Another huge THANK YOU to: Julie, Elaine (and our own little sales demon Barbara) for inviting us to Nostell Priory Holiday Park on Saturday 1st August 2009. The money raised from your goodies totalled over a brilliant £150. Thank you for your support and hard-work and such an enjoyable day despite the awful weather. Please send Beverley our best wishes and we all hope she's feeling much better soon.
